i. <br /> December 4, 1 ~98 <br /> CONTACT: ichard Zucker, Leaf Program Manager, 682-4800 <br /> FROM :Pub is Information Section, 687-5523 <br /> FOR IMMED ATE RELEASE <br /> S COND ROUND OF LEAF PICKUPS TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK <br /> The sec nd and final round of leaf pickups in Eugene is scheduled to begin Wednesday, <br /> December 9, in central Eugene. The schedule calls for all leaves to be picked up citywide by <br /> anuary 8, 1998 <br /> i <br /> Areas w 11 be picked up in the following order: central Eugene (December 9-11), <br /> outheast Euge e (December 14-18), southwest Eugene (December 21-24), west Eugene <br /> December 28-31), and north Eugene (January 4-8). <br /> Due to h gh volumes of leaves in north Eugene, the first round of collections is taking <br /> lightly longer tan anticipated. Public Works crews expect to finish up in north Eugene next <br /> uesday and be ack on schedule by the end of next week. <br /> Resident can assist the City by recycling leaves whenever possible. If leaves are put out <br /> i <br /> or collection, theey shouldn't be piled in the street until the weekend before the scheduled pickup, <br /> i <br /> d they should 't be stacked close to or under parked cars.
