Wiidish <br /> Construction Co. has been awarded the contract for the paving project designed and managed by the <br /> I~Eugene Public Works Department. <br /> Work will be done in two main phases: grinding off the top layer of existing pavement using a <br /> llprocess called rotomilling; and applying a new surface of asphaltic concrete. Conduit and new sidewalk <br /> 'Tramps will be installed at Chambers and 22"d Avenue to accommodate a new pedestrian crossing signal, <br /> but no other traffic changes or lane reconfigurations are planned. <br /> ~ Most of the work will be done during daytime construction hours, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Work in the <br /> I~'vicinity of Chambers and 18`'' Avenue will be done at night, 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. At least one traffic lane in <br /> I <br /> I'~each direction will be kept open on Chambers Street during construction, but motorists are likely to <br /> jencounter delays and detours and are encouraged to use alternate routes. <br /> Ills This is one in a series of projects initiated over the past several years by the City of Eugene to <br /> preserve and extend the life of West 11''' Avenue.
