I, I ' - ~ <br /> July 18, 1997 <br /> CONTACT: om Larsen, Project Manager 682-8450 <br /> Ferry Street B idge Project Public Information 682-8449 <br /> FOR IlVIl1~ IATE RELEASE <br /> D TOURS TO BEGIN ALONG WILLAMETTE RIVER BIKE PATHS <br /> Begi ing Monday, July 21, sections of the bike/pedestrian paths along both the north <br /> and south b of the Willamette River will be closed. Detour signs, fencing, maps, and <br /> handouts will e used to help guide bike/pedestrian traffic. Detour routes will remain in effect <br /> until the new ike/pedestrian bridge is completed in the fall of 1998. <br /> I <br /> On the south bank, cyclists and pedestrians will be detoured through the EWEB Plaza <br /> i onto Fourth A enue and on High Street and rejoin the bike path in Skinner Butte Park near <br /> Campbell Sen' r Center. <br /> On the orth bank in Alton Baker Park, bike/pedestrian traffic will be detoured on a <br /> temporary pat around the construction. <br /> Thew kways on the west and east side of the Ferry Street Bridge currently remain open <br /> although the b' e loop underpass at the north end of the bridge is closed due to utility work. <br /> To get egular updates about detours and construction activities call the City's traffic <br /> relief hotline a 984-8484 or also call the Ferry Street Bridge project office at 682-8449, Monday <br /> I! through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. <br /> <br /> Puhlic Works • Admin stration • City of Eugene • 858 Pearl • Eugene, OR 97401-2727 • Phone: (541) 682-5262.
