i
•
i.

' Mews Release Construction Begins Monday on West 11th Avenue
August 14, 19 7
Page 2
This y ar's paving overlay continues a series of projects to address the deteriorating
condition of o e of Eugene's main arterials. Other recent projects in the West 1 lth corridor
include overl sin 1996 from Franklin Boulevard to Pearl Street and from Tyinn to Beltline, a
1 X93 recons ction between Garfield and Tyinn, and current work to add capacity on West 11th
between Beltl e and Willow Creek Road.
An av rage of almost 14,000 vehicles per day travel the section of West 11th between
Charnelton an Polk. Pavement evaluations indicate that an overlay now will preserve this
section of Wet 11th and avert the need for more costly reconstruction in the future.
Most the estimated $535,000 cost of the overlay project will be paid from the City's
road fund, wh ch is primarily supported by revenues from the state gasoline tax, plus a relatively
sn7a11 amount om the City's stormwater fund.
