"We've got lots of volunteers to help with the planting," said Bellmore.
"More planting elp is always welcome, but what we most are volunteers who are willing to take care of
street trees in fr t of their homes or businesses."
Through the NeighborWoods program, the City provides street trees that are suitable for specific
locations and als takes care of pruning and other major tasks. The NeighborWoods volunteers water,
weed, and keep n eye on young street trees, nurturing the trees through the first critical years. Once
trees become we 1 established, they require less care, although watering is always a good idea during
periods of droug t.
To sign p to receive free trees or for more information about the NeighborWoods program, call
the City of Euge a Maintenance Division at 682-4800.

Puglic Works • Admin stration • City of Eugene • 858 Pearl • Eugene, OR 97401-2727 • Phone: (541) 682-5262 • FAX (541) 682-6826
