y <br /> ,r _ _ - <br /> eptember 2 , 1997 <br /> i <br /> CONTACT: Teri Higgins, Project Manager, 682-5560 <br /> From Public nformation Section, 682-5523 <br /> FOR IMME IATE RELEASE <br /> NEW SI AL ON WEST 11TH AT DANEBO/WILLOW CREEK INTERSECTION <br /> A ne traffic signal at a new intersection on West 1 lth Avenue will be activated <br /> Thursday, Se tember 25. <br /> The n w signal is at the intersection of West 11th Avenue, Danebo Avenue, and Willow <br /> Creek Road. illow Creek Road has been realigned to match up with Danebo Avenue, creating <br /> anew, signali ed intersection, with Willow Creek south of West 11th and Danebo north. Willow <br /> !Creek Road, hich has been closed for construction, will reopen to through traffic on Thursday. <br /> The si al at the new intersection will include protected left turns from West 11th onto <br /> Danebo and illow Creek and protected/permissive left turns from Willow Creek and Danebo <br /> onto West l It .The new signal replaces the signal temporarily installed last year several <br /> hundred feet to the west at the old intersection of West 11th and Willow Creek. <br /> A num er of work items still need to be completed along Willow Creek Road, including <br /> sidewalks, stye t lights, island work, seeding and tree planting, and motorists on Willow Creek <br /> are likely to en ounter some delays during off-peak traffic hours. <br /> Also be inning this Thursday, the project contractor will begin concentrating work efforts <br /> Ion West 11th fr m Beltline to Willow Creek Road. Increased delays can be expected, although <br /> the majority of e work is still outside the travel lanes.
