Construction of the first phase of the project, from Beltline Road to Garfield Street, is <br /> scheduled to begin this year. <br /> The design modifications involve future phases of the project. On the west end, from <br /> Beltline Road to Highway 126 near the Oak Hill area, the alignment of the highway design has been <br /> shifted slightly to the north to lessen impacts to wetland areas. On the east end, a new overpass is <br /> being proposed to improve the connection of the parkway with Highway 99 near Fifth Avenue. <br /> Comments received from the public at Thursday's meeting will be addressed in a <br /> supplemental environmental impact statement required to modify the original design analysis <br /> prepared in 1990. <br /> Willamette High School is accessible to people with disabilities. Interpreters for people with <br /> hearing impairments can be provided by calling TDD 1-800-293-1438 at least 48 hours in advance <br /> of the meeting. <br /> <br />
