The schedule calls for all leaves to be picked up by January 3,
i
1997.
i
Are will be picked up in the following order: central Eugene (December 2-6), west
i
Eugene (Dec tuber 9-13), southeast Eugene (December 16-20), southwest Eugene (December
23-27), and orth Eugene (December 30-January 3).
Due unexpectedly high volumes of leaves in north Eugene, the collection schedule is
currently se eral days behind schedule. Crews from the Public Works Maintenance Division
will be wor ng in both north Eugene and central Eugene next week and hope to be back on
schedule b ecember 9.
Y
Resi ents can assist the City by recycling leaves whenever possible. If leaves are placed
in the street, they should be piled so they do not obstruct the flow of water along the curb. Do
not block tr vel lanes for bicyclists or motorists, and be sure to keep sidewalks free of leaves,
which are sl ppery and hazardous for pedestrians.

j For more information about leaf pickups, composting, commercial recycling, or
leaf deliveri s, call the City's leaf hotline at 682-5383.
I
