April 2, 1996 <br /> CONTACT: Ruth Koenig, Eugene Stream Team, 465-2814 <br /> From Public Information Section, 465-2739 <br /> WESTERN POND TURTLE TOPIC OF LECTURE/FIELD TRIP <br /> "Western Pond Turtle Endangered Habitat/Sensitive Species" will be the topic of a <br /> lecture and slideshow presented on Tuesday, Apri19 at 7:30 p.m. at Kelly Middle School, 850 <br /> H©wazd Avenue in Eugene followed by a field trip on April 13. <br /> Ethen Perkins, a local naturalist who has done extensive research on the Western pond <br /> j turtle, will make the presentation on this sensitive species that makes its home in North Eugene. <br /> To complement the lecture, a field trip is scheduled for the following Saturday, April 13 <br /> beginning at 9 a.m. at Dianna's/Kelly Pond. Meet on Nantucket Street behild Kelly Middle <br /> School off North Pazk Avenue. A clean up work party will. be held at the same site from 10 a.m. <br /> to noon. <br /> Both events are sponsored by the City of Eugene Public Works Department's Eugene <br /> Stream Team.
