E gene Sand & Gravel, which was awarded a $300,000 contract to resurface the <br /> badly deterio ated section of Willamette Street between 19th Avenue and 24th Place, delayed <br /> the start of c nstruction several days to allow equipment to arrive from out of town. The <br /> company no expects to put up traffic control signs and begin lane closures on Wednesday, <br /> August 2, wi surface grinding scheduled to start Thursday. <br /> The ' provement work is scheduled to be completed by August 18. During <br /> construction, otorists are encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the construction area. <br /> Northbound t affic on Willamette will be detoured to the Amazon Parkway at 29th Avenue <br /> <br /> i <br /> and 24th Ave ue, southbound traffic on Willamette will be reduced to one lane, Oak Street <br /> between 19th and 20th avenues will be converted into atwo-way street during construction, <br /> and other tra is changes may be made as necessary. Access to businesses and medical <br /> offices will b maintained, although motorists may encounter delays during construction <br /> hours. <br /> <br />
