Two local firms, Lane Forest Products and <br /> Rexius Fore t By-Products, accept yard debris, including leaves, for a nominal fee. <br /> Asa ast resort for residents to dispose of unused leaves and to keep leaves from <br /> plugging the storm drainage system or polluting local waterways, the City continues to offer <br /> its curbside eaf collection service. Unless an immediate hazard exists, Public Works <br /> Maintenance crews follow a schedule that ensures systematic coverage of the city and controls <br /> the cost of a program. This year's leaf pickup begins October 30 and continues through <br /> January 5, 1 96. There are five collection areas, each area scheduled for two collections: <br /> •In c ntral Eugene, between the Willamette River and 18th Avenue from Garfield <br /> ~ Street to Ag to Street, leaves will be picked up October 30 through November 3. Crews will <br /> return for th second pickup December 4 through December 8. <br /> •In est Eugene, north of 18th Avenue and west of Garfield Street, including <br /> Bethel/Dane o, and in the Churchill area west of Bertelsen Road, leaves will be picked up <br /> November 6 through November 9. Crews will return for the second pickup December 11 <br /> through Dec tuber 15. <br /> • So theast Eugene, east of Willamette Street and south of 18th Avenue, will be picked <br /> up Novemb 13 through November 17.
