A second pickup is <br /> <br /> I <br /> <br /> ~ scheduled fo January 2 through January 5. <br /> •The outhwest Eugene area, which includes the area west of Willamette Street and <br /> <br /> i <br /> south of 18 Avenue, will be picked up November 27 through December 1 and again <br /> December 2 through December 29. <br /> City rews cannot collect scattered leaves or leaf piles that are stacked under or very <br /> close to par d cars. Debris other than leaves such as branches, rocks, metal, and lawn <br /> clippings wi not be collected. Residents should pile leaves in the street the weekend before <br /> <br /> ~ the schedule pickup to ensure leaves are picked up during the scheduled collection times. <br /> Residents ar asked not to place their leaves in the street more than a week before their <br /> scheduled pi kup because even properly piled leaves can contribute to drainage and <br /> stormwater ollution problems. After the last scheduled pickup in each area, property owners <br /> will be resp nsible for removing any leaves that are left in front of their homes. <br /> Stree s without curbs and gutters are normally picked up only during the second half of <br /> the schedule Bike lanes along major arterials will be picked up weekly. <br /> "Lea piles are the responsibility of the property owner until City crews collect them, <br /> so property wners are ultimately liable for any traffic hazard they create by placing leaves in <br /> the street," utioned Street Maintenance Supervisor Richard Zucker. <br /> (more) <br /> <br />
