The existing <br /> striping was worn off by construction activities during the excavation phase <br /> of the project. <br /> New curbing has been installed on the north side of the widened street, <br /> and crews will begin building the new lane in the next week or so. Most of <br /> the work during this phase of the project will be done during the daytime. <br /> Once the new lane has been constructed, the old surface on the existing <br /> four-lane street will be removed and new paving will be applied to all five <br /> lanes of the new street. The paving work most likely will be done at night. <br /> During construction, motorists are advised to use alternate routes to <br /> avoid dela~s on West 11th. The improved, five-lane street should be fully <br /> open to tr~ffic in about two months. <br /> <br />
