A <br /> <br />News Release -- River Road Bid Opened <br />May 15, 1 90 <br />Page 2 <br />The asin C project drew six sealed bids, which were opened Tuesday <br />afternoon by city Project Manager Michelle Cahill. The bids ranged from <br />Bostick's low bid to a high bid of $1.83 million. The other bidders were: <br />Casper & agera of Spokane, Wash.; Emery & Sons Construction, Inc., of <br />Stayton; ugene Sand & Gravel, Inc., of Eugene; Tony Russell Construction, <br />Inc., of thello, Wash.; and Wildish Corvallis Construction Co. of Eugene. <br />Proj ct specifications call for sewer work to begin this summer and be <br />completed by November. Final street repairs will be completed in 1991. <br />Sewe s are scheduled to be installed in three basins, or construction <br />areas, in the River Road area this summer. On Monday, the city opened bids <br />for Basin B, a residential neighborhood generally located between Maxwell <br />Road and ark Avenue and west of Lake Drive. James W. Fowler Co.. of Dallas, <br />Ore., was he apparent low bidder on that contract. The company's bid of <br />$1,328,195 was 2 percent below the city's estimate. <br />Last ~riday, the city opened bids for sewer construction in Basin A, a <br />residentia area generally bounded by West Hilliard Lane, Sunnyside Drive, <br />Willow Str et, and River Road. The James W. Fowler Co. also was the apparent <br />low bidder on that job, submitting a bid of $990,548 that was 24 percent <br />below the ity's estimate. <br />more <br />
