The contract with H & J is funded by a Federal Aviation <br /> Administr'tion safety improvement project grant and is not part of the $18.3 <br /> million a pansion project. <br /> Land ide construction at Mahlon Sweet is nearly one-third complete, <br /> according to construction project manager, Bob Staley. Wildish and several <br /> sub-contr ctors are coordinating efforts on many areas around the project, <br /> said Stal y. "This week we are working on curbs, gutters, sidewalks, new toll <br /> booths, i rigation, electrical work, a covered pedestrian walkway, expanded <br /> <br /> ' parking a eas, and plan to begin laying the first lift of paving on the new <br /> Douglas D ive" he said. <br /> Land ide construction includes, installing sewer lines, irrigation, and <br /> electrica conduit and lighting, building a rental car facility, parking toll <br /> <br /> ~ station, nd a covered pedestrian walkway, expanding the parking facilities, <br /> constructing a new road system, and landscaping the area. All landside <br /> construction is scheduled for completion by October 15, 1987 except for the <br /> landscapi g, which will be completed during the fall planting season. <br /> Expa Sion of the airport terminal will begin in March.
