<br /> is <br /> ~h <br /> <br /> I~ <br /> July 21, 987 <br /> NEWS RELEASE <br /> Contact: Bob Staley, Project Manager, 687-5123 <br /> Kay Kronholm, Project Information Coordinator, 687-5123 or 687-5297 <br /> FOR IMMED ATE RELEASE <br /> THREE CONTRACTS AT MAHLON SWEET AWARDED <br /> The ity of Eugene announced that three construction contracts for work <br /> at Mahlon Sweet Airport have been awarded. <br /> <br /> I, Euge a Sand and Gravel, with a bid of $283,902, was awarded a contract <br /> to constr ct a new ramp at the Mahlon Sweet terminal and at McKenzie Flying <br /> Service. The ramps will provide the airlines and McKenzie Flying Service with <br /> <br /> I~!, additions space for aircraft parking, servicing, and manuverability. <br /> Construct on began on July 21 and will take about six weeks to complete. <br /> Ramp cons ruction at the terminal is part of the $18.3 million airport <br /> <br /> I, expansion project. Ramp construction at McKenzie Flying Service is funded <br /> <br /> II'', through a Federal Aviation Administration grant. <br /> L. R Brabham Inc, was awarded the contract for ramp lighting and taxiway <br /> <br /> i signing. The electrical work will include excavation for the installation of <br /> lighting or the new ramp areas and signing for the taxiways. Cost of the <br /> <br /> ; lighting/ igning project is $159,834 and is part of the airport expansion <br /> project. Electrical work is scheduled to begin within a week. <br /> H & Construction, with a bid of $93,930, was awarded a contract to <br /> install s wer pipe and control gates at the end of the airport runways. The <br /> excavation and sewer pipe installation will take about one month to complete. <br /> more <br /> <br />
