After that, the city will send notices to <br /> candidate asking that they remove the signs. If they are not collected <br /> within a easonable time, city staff will pick up the signs and dispose <br /> of them. <br /> "We eceive sign complaints every election," said McDonald. Primarily the <br /> code cont ols the number, size and placement of signs so driver visibility <br /> is not ob tructed. But the code was also created to reduce visual blight. <br /> <br /> III <br /> At the ti a the code was adopted, the public was concerned about the number <br /> of signs eing constructed along the main arterials of the city.
