<br /> . ~ ~ ~ - <br /> News Rele se Bicycle Bridge Dedication <br /> October 1 1988 <br /> Page 2 <br /> In 1 56, the bridge was relocated 200 miles west on the Siuslaw River near <br /> Richardso and in 1986, when it could no longer carry motor vehicle traffic, <br /> Lane Coun y donated it to the City of Eugene. It was dismantled and trucked to <br /> the Amazo site. <br /> Many local groups have helped with the installation of the bridge. The <br /> i <br /> ! local uni of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserves and the city's Public Works <br /> f maintenanc staff set the footings. The Corps reassembled the structure on the <br /> ground, an a crane lifted it into place. Donations of equipment and materials <br /> from OBEC, Wildish Construction Company, Eugene Sand and Gravel, Farwest Steel, <br /> Real Wood roducts, McFarland/Cascade, Cascadian Company, Oregon Cedar, and <br /> i <br /> Cone Lumbe Company helped complete the project. <br /> The p blic is invited to the dedication ceremony. <br /> i <br /> i <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />
