<br /> i <br /> NEWS RELEASE <br /> October 1 1988 <br /> <br /> i CONTACT: Diane Bishop, Bicycle Coordinator, 687-5298 <br /> Sandra Gleason, Public Information, 687-5523 <br /> FOR IMMED ATE RELEASE <br /> i <br /> NEW BICYCLE BRIDGE TO BE DEDICATED <br /> I <br /> On S turday, October 29 at 11 a.m., Eugene will hold a dedication ceremony <br /> to celebr to the opening of the Richardson Bicycle Bridge, which is located <br /> behind Sk pper's Seafood 'n' Chowder House at 3510 West 11th Avenue. The <br /> bridge sp ns the Amazon Channel and connects the Fern Ridge bike and pedestrian <br /> path to b sinesses north of the channel. During the ceremony, the City will <br /> officiall open a new section of bike path that will extend to Baily Hill Road <br /> and will lso honor the local businesses who offered assistance during the <br /> reconstru tion of the historic bridge. <br /> Fest vities will start at 10:30 a.m., with a bike ride/walk/run that will <br /> begin at 5th and Jefferson Street at the old Jefferson Pool parking lot and <br /> will fini h at the bridge in time for the opening ceremony.
