That equates to nearly <br /> 300 dump- ruck loads of sand. <br /> Bob ammitt, City Maintenance Director, says that the sand may cause a <br /> potential hazard to motorists, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Much of the sand <br /> has been eat off of main travel lanes and onto bicycle paths along <br /> arterials. Hammitt advises bicyclists against using bike lanes along <br /> arterials until the sand is picked up. Much of the sand was also beat onto <br /> <br /> ~r° <br /> sidewalks and into pedestrian crosswalks. Pedestrians should exercise <br /> caution t keep from slipping on loose sand. Motorists can also slide in <br /> the sand if traveling too fast where the sand has not worn off. <br /> The and pick-up effort began with the regular night shift sweeping <br /> crew on S nday night. It is expected to take about three weeks to complete <br /> the sand ick-up.
