This task will involve evaluating the artist's <br /> ideas, supplemented by our ideas, and jointly determining the best details for construction that meets <br /> the artist's intent for the bridge structure as sculpture. <br /> Task 2.2 -Preliminary DesitJn Report: This task includes preparation of a preliminary design letter <br /> report including preliminary drawings for Zig-Zag Bridge, construction and constructability issues <br /> and review, and a preliminary construction cost estimate. This report will also include the <br /> geotechnical engineering memorandum for the bridge from FEI. The information and design <br /> drawings contained in this report can be used to facilitate the environmental permits and hydraulic <br /> analysis. <br /> TASK 3 -FINAL DESIGN ' <br /> This task includes final bridge design and the preparation of detailed plans and specifications for <br /> City bidding. All bridge design will conform to the current Standard Spec cations for Highway <br /> Bridges and Guide Spec cations for Design of <br /> Pedestrian Bridges. Specifications will conform to <br /> the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and American Public Works Association <br /> (APWA) Oregon Standard Spec cations for Construction and City of Eugene Public Works <br /> Standazds as applicable. <br /> This phase includes the following engineering services: <br /> ¦ Provide Advance (95 percent) Plan drawings including bridge plans and required details, <br /> standard drawings, and other related drawings for submittal to City for review as applicable: <br /> ¦ Advance Plan corrections as required. All plans will be drafted in English units in AutoCAD <br /> 2000 format in accordance with City of Eugene standazd practices. <br /> ¦ Prepaze draft and final technical specifications and special provisions. <br /> ¦ Perform independent design check and QA/QC plan review of all drawings and related <br /> quantities. <br /> ¦ Calculate final structure quantities and prepare final estimate of construction costs. <br /> ¦ Furnish final half-size plans, specifications, and estimate (PS&E) for City bidding of project. <br /> ¦ Assist the City in the bidding process by answering questions, addendum preparation, etc. <br /> At this time it is assumed that the City will prepaze and collate contract documents including OBEC <br /> prepared work and print, advertise, and bid the project. <br /> TASK 4 -CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING ASSISTANCE <br /> It is anticipated that the City will be administering the construction contract, provide day-to-day <br /> inspection, and payment estimate review for the bridge with office engineering support provided by <br /> OBEC.
