'Emily Proudfoot ~ ? c~~srclr~s
December 8, 2004 i ErsiNEres
Page 4
Structural shop drawing review (structural steel, pile hammer and piling, concrete,
reinforcement, etc.)
¦ Resolve structural bridge related field issues arising from the work.
ESTIMATED FEE
The attached spreadsheet indicates the anticipated hours and associated fee required to complete the
tasks as outlined above. At this time OBEC proposes to perform the work on atime-and-material-
basis not-to-exceed $37,910 with Extra Work for Hydraulic Analysis of $3,540 as shown on the fee
spreadsheet. Rates aze based on OBEC's current City of Eugene Personal Services Contract for
Architecture and Engineering.
ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST
For your planning purposes, you requested a cost estimate for the bridge as a part of our proposal.
Based on current average unit prices and a take off of approximate quantities, we estimate the bridge
will cost approximately $157,555. This cost includes 20 percent ($26,260) for possible
contingencies. This estimate will obviously be refined as design progresses.
SCHEDULE
It is our understanding that the City desires to bid this project in summer of 2005. OBEC is
prepared to actively work with the City and ar#ist to pursue completion of our work by May ~ 1,
2005.

J' We hope this proposal provides the City of Eugene with the required information. Please do not
hesitate to call if you have any questions or need additional information.
Sincerely,
O..~.
Gregory W. Ausland, P.E.
Sr. Project Manager
GWA/mlh
Enclosures
