This inspection <br /> was held to: <br /> a. Evaluate the structural integrity of your flood <br /> protection structures. Also, to determine if vegetation <br /> providing existing fish and wildlife habitat threatens the <br /> facility's structural integrity or could impede emergency <br /> operations. <br /> b. Assess your ability to operate the flood protection <br /> structures during an emergency and prevent structural failure <br /> of the levee system. We evaluated your emergency flood response <br /> plans, reviewed training and stockpiled supplies, availability of <br /> equipment and access for emergency operations. <br /> c. Listen to your concerns and provide technical assistance <br /> about how to operate and maintain your flood protection. <br /> The enclosed Inspection Report summarizes the findings of <br /> the inspection and lists both required and recommended corrective <br /> actions. A review of the report reveals the following <br /> highlights: <br /> * Your program of scheduled maintenance is working well. <br /> * The locations of noted slope sloughing and sediment <br /> • deposition are listed in Item 5 of the report. <br /> * `-Encroachment of materials in the levee right-of-way has <br /> been a long standing concern for your levees. Effort <br /> should be made to clear these areas as listed in Item <br /> 5 (f) . <br />
