July - Work party. Volunteers removed woody vegetation from 29th Ave. To E. <br /> 31st Ave. City chipped and hauled. <br /> 1993: October- Work party. Volunteers removed woody vegetation from E. 31st Ave. <br /> to Hilyard. City chipped and hauled. <br /> 1994: City crew used the brush head to remove the woody vegetation along the Amazon <br /> between Hilyard and Fox Hollow. Contract work was performed on the Amazon <br /> between Richardson Bridge and approximately 500 ft west of Bailey Hill. <br /> Consisted of re-establishing the channel bottom and bank restoration. Lane <br /> County used jail inmates to clear berry vines along the Amazon at the <br /> Fairgrounds. <br /> 1995: August - City crew did bank repairs along south side of channel between <br /> Chambers and Garfield. Repairs were necessary to reduce erosion and to allow <br /> mowers access to south side. <br /> August- City crew cleaned as necessary from City View to 300 ft west of Oak <br /> Patch. Cleaning consisted of removal of heavy woody vegetation and the removal <br /> of soltation build up. <br /> 1995: June- Eugene Stream Team Activities: <br /> 1. Volunteers who "adopted"Amazon Creek from 31st to 33rd cleaned litter <br /> from that section. SE Neighbors also cleaned 33rd to S. end. <br /> 2. Volunteers that"adopted"Amazon Creek form Oak Patch to City View <br /> cleaned litter. (McKinley Neighbors) <br /> 3. Amazon Appreciation Day - litter and debris removed from area east and <br /> west of Chambers St. by volunteers. <br /> 4. October McKinley neighbors cleaned their section again. <br /> 5. October through November- student volunteers from Opportunity Center <br /> High School removed woody vegetation from channel behind Amazon <br /> Community Center. City crew will chip material and deposit at Camas <br /> Trail. <br /> 6. Dec. 2nd- volunteers planted wetland & native plants near Camas Trail in <br /> seasonal wetland area near channel. <br />
