this could be a win-win development. <br /> The a skateboard facility might prove to have a good <br /> relationship with the fire station. Even though fire fighters <br /> are not park maintenance or recreation staff, I think their <br /> presense within 150- 300 feet might lead to fewer problems in <br /> the surrounding area. I am thinking primarily of the increase <br /> in vandalism problems that the Amazon Center staff noted after <br /> the skateboard facility went in near them. This is a highly <br /> visible area, which is another key criterion in my book for <br /> siting such facilities. <br /> I also have some feelings for the overall quality of the open <br /> space one perceives as they drive along Willakenzie Road. The <br /> views into the open area and seeing people at play are things <br /> that make people feel good about their community. A building <br /> and parking will reduce the unobstructed vision into this open <br /> space, however I believe other landscape improvements can come <br /> with the development that, in time, will net an increased <br /> benefit. <br /> Your concerns and reactions to what I've described are invited. --John <br /> Page 2 <br />
