The park improvement effort is funded by the Parks and Open Space bond measure voters
approved in 1998.
The workshop is the first in a series of workshops designed to solicit input from the community
about how the park could be improved and any specific issues and challenges the new design should
address. City park planners plan to incorporate this feedback from neighbors into the final design of the
park so that the park truly reflects the needs and vision of the local community.
Park planning staff are also working with the City of Eugene Water Resources Team to design
stormwater and water quality enhancement projects in the area. Some of the proposed projects include
alleviating flooding on Martin Street and restoring the main channel of Amazon Creek by preventing
erosion and increasing the quality of the habitat.
For more information, call 682-4915.
