Irwin Park <br /> Phase:Project complete <br /> The POS bond-funded project has been completed,and the contractor has been paid in full. The park <br /> grand opening party,held in July,was a tremendous success,with more than 120 people in attendance. <br /> An SDC-funded project aimed at creating safe and convenient access to Irwin Park from a nearby <br /> neighborhood is now under way. A park-like connection will be constructed next summer between West <br /> Irwin Way and Trevon Street following property acquisition and extensive planning efforts. A follow-up <br /> report updating the progress of the proposed connector work was sent to neighbors and interested parties <br /> this fall. Construction drawings are currently being developed,with bids anticipated to go out in the <br /> spring. <br /> Frank Kinney Park <br /> Phase:Planning/public involvement <br /> POS Planning staff have been working closely with Water Resources and PWE staff to integrate <br /> stormwater planning and park planning goals for this 5-acre neighborhood park at the south end of <br /> Amazon Parkway near Martin Street. Site analysis is under way in preparation for a series of public <br /> workshops this fall and winter. Neighbors will be asked to provide ideas and input on both park <br /> improvements and potential water quality enhancements to Amazon Creek. <br /> Lark Park <br /> Phase: Construction <br /> POS Park Maintenance crews are on schedule to complete the work this winter. Improvements planned <br /> include turf renovation of the play field,irrigation,tree planting as well as the recent addition of a <br /> playground renovation.Renovation plans were developed and shared at neighborhood workshops in 2001 <br /> and 2002. Construction drawings are currently being developed. <br /> Laurel Hill Park <br /> Phase:Project complete <br /> Milton Park <br /> Phase:Planning/design <br /> A survey necessary for completing the design and construction documents was recently completed. Staff <br /> will be developing construction documents over the coming winter for renovation of this small <br /> neighborhood park in southeast Eugene. Planned improvements include a new play area,picnic tables, <br /> benches,a bike rack,a water fountain,a park sign,a small basketball halfcourt,improved plantings,street <br /> trees,and sidewalks. Construction is scheduled for summer 2003. <br /> Oakmont Park <br /> Phase:Planning/design <br /> A final concept plan for this 5-acre site near the Oakway commercial area is complete.
