OF PUBLIC WORK . <br />CITY OF EUGENE <br />SUBJECT: GRASS AND WEED MOWING PROGRAM <br />Enclosed is a report prepared by Mona Mellot, Supervisor -- Assessments/ <br />Accounts Receivables, on the Grass and Weed Mowing Program. The report <br />contains a detailed analysis of current operating procedures and issues <br />and recommends a series of corrective actions to make the program more <br />efficient and financially sound. It is my understanding that Mona is <br />already working with your staff to implement some of the corrective actions; <br />and, I have indicated to Dave Lilley, Accounting Operations Manager, to <br />proceed with the balance of the recommended actions. <br />One of the recommendations involves increasing the hourly rate. Based on <br />the information I have available, I would like the rate increased to $75 <br />on the assumption that this rate should be sufficient to cover most of the <br />direct and indirect costs of this program. As Mona's report indicates, the <br />General Fund subsidizes this program at approximately $7,000 per fiscal year. <br />Therefore, with your concurrence, I would like the fee adjusted to $75 an <br />hour effective with the 1985 season and that this new role be in all legal <br />advertisements and information pertaining to the program.
