This is the old walnut orchard
located between Northwest Expressway and N. Park Ave.
7/15/92- I called Richie Weinman in planning and developement and told him of
the complaint. He said he would take care of it.
7/24/92- Mrs. Holm called again, I told her that we were working on it and it
would be mowed as soon as possible.
7/29/92- Mrs. Holm called again, same response as above. After I talked to Mrs.
Holm I called Richie and asked if he was close to having the problem
taken care of. He said he was working on it and would get it done as
soon as he could.
8/17/92- Mrs. Holm called again to complain that nothing had been done yet. I
called Richie to see if there was a problem and at that point he asked
me to take care of it.
8/21/92- I wrote the work order for the contractor to mow the property
8/26/92- On or about this date the contractor's mower broke down and was out of
service for 1 week.
9/08/92- The lot was mowed.
I would also like to add that although the tone of the Register Gaard article
leaned toward separation of city departments that was not my intent. When Mr.
Bishoff called I attemped to infer that we as an organization were working on
the problem, but I chose not to answer for planning and developement and sug-
gested that Mr. Bishoff call down there for more clarification. Following the
article Fred and I discussed the issue and talked about possible alternatives
that I could have used to more clearly state the city's position in cases such
as this.
