To recap, the
two options include 1) construction of a facility at each of the 4J high school campuses and
2) construction of a single facility at the Kennedy Middle School / Churchill High School field
complex. The city regards its relationship with District 4J as one that serves to provide many
valuable services to the community at large and we have attempted to respond to the
questions in a compressed time - frame. Contact names /numbers have been provided for any
follow -up questions you may have. To remain consistent with the documentation you
provided, questions /answers are addressed in the same order as given.
Zoning
Please verify if there are any zoning issues related to the proposed developments. Is Site Review
or a Conditional Use Permit required for the proposed improvements at any of these sites?
Both options involve upgrading existing athletic facilities located in "PL" zoned land. These
uses are considered accessory uses for public high schools and do not require zone changes
or a land use application approval such as a Conditional Use Permit or Site Review. For more
information please contact Mike Mckerrow, Land Use Supervisor, at 682 - 5251.
Bicycle Parking
Is the bicycle parking as proposed in the WBGS documentation an acceptable solution to the
city's requirements?
The information supplied for bike parking spaces is correct with the clarification that 20% of the
short term spaces need to be covered in order to meet local code requirements.
