LANKSTON Jeff
From: KOLB Randy C
Sent: Tuesday, October 24, 2000 9:36 AM
To: LANKSTON Jeff; CARLSON Jim R
Cc: JUNE Kent R
Subject: Video to Skate Park
Jim J asked me whether we have fiber to the Fire Station 10 area so that we might put up a camera viewing the skate park
area. At this point we do not have fiber to that part of town. We do have a goal of getting there and we include those City
facilitities when we talk with public and private providers as part of our telecommunications plans. Still, at this point there is
no specific time frame I could give you. Much of that will depend upon where the private telcos plan to put fiber and our
ability to "trade" with them to get access. For remote sites like Churchill these trades represent our best possibility since
putting in a fiber run by ourselves would be very expensive. Kent June will continue to look for opportunities there.
I will ask Robert Lewis at Metro TV if he has any ideas although as Kent noted to me most lower cost options will not have
the resolution to make identification of individuals possible.
Randy
1
