In response to questions from Ms. Cahill, Mr. Peebles explained that over flow
to the City's 48 -inch storm drainage system would be provided through pond
cell three if containment provided for a 25 -year storm were not adequate.
Mr. McGuire stated that a design to route excess runoff generated by the
project around property of The Nature Conservancy would be provided if
required. Mr. Sabin explained that a mutually acceptable plan was being
developed.
Mr. Alverson stated that drainage water quality was a significant issue for
The Nature Conservancy.
Ms. Evans stated that the City will want the maximum treatment possible before
storm water was introduced into its piped system and that it would be advanta-
geous to include representatives in the discussions between project managers
and The Nature Conservancy.
In response to concerns raised by Ms. Cahill about storage of hazardous
material, Mr. Sabin explained containment and leak detection plans for the
project.
Mr. Lyle stated that if it was possible, parking lot landscaping plans should
be included in drainage system submissions. Mr. Hudzikiewicz commented on the
desirability of using native plant species in landscaping plans and provided a
document that included lists of acceptable species. Mr. Alverson volunteered
to work with landscapers in development of acceptable plans.
Mr. 011ek observed that oil and grease would be included with parking lot
runoff and suggested its pre- treatment before it was dispersed.
Mr. McGuire described westerly drainage development on the project property.
Ms. Evans said that the City would review plans for the whole site. Mr. Elder
offered to provide relevant information prepared for permit applications made
to the Army Corps of Engineers. Mr. Lyle commented that relocation of an
existing stream channel on the site would be a Public Improvement project and
that detailed drainage development plans were needed.
In response to questions from Mr. Hellesvig, Mr. McGuire described the storm
drainage system that would be provided during construction. Mr. Lyle noted
that the plan would be required as part of the erosion control submission.
MINUTES -- Hyundai- Willow Creek October 26, 1995 Page 5
Drainage Pre - Design Meeting
