I came up with five plants across from 3535 East
Amazon, about half way between the curb and the northernmost Oregon ash in a short row
of trees to the west.
The Emerald Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon respectfully requests that
mowing of the strip be delayed until these plants, and possibly others in the area, set fruit.
In addition to the Lomatiwn, there is a very uncommon milkweed (Asclepius speciosa) in the
area (across from 3675 Amazon) which is on our Lane County Rare and Endangered list.
There are hundreds of lupines in the area which would be almost spectacular if they were
given the chance to flower before being mowed, also. The camas and buttercups flowering
now are quite showy.
Thank you for your consideration, and let us know if we can be of assistance.
Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Cordially,
171
Bruce Newhouse
Co- Conservation Chair
Emerald Chapter • P.O.
