West Alton Baker Park. The hope was that by summer 2012 they would have something
built.
Mr. Sonnichsen asked if the layout of the disc golf course was progressing.
Mr. Richardson said there was not yet a layout. The successful bidder on the RFP would have a
large say in the layout, as long as it met the City's criteria. He did not think the layout would be
radically different from what has been used recently.
Mr. Richardson continued with his staff report:
• The North Bank project was moving forward. They were currently waiting on permit
applications, which were expected to be approved in the next few weeks. Construction
was planned for the third quarter of this year, possibly by July 2012.
• Lee Shoemaker said there were funds available for more way - finding signage within
Alton Baker Park. He thought there was enough money to do three locations.
Regarding the way - finding signs for the park, Mr. Richardson said the City was asking the CPC
for ideas or suggestions for the locations of signs and destinations that should be on the signs. He
said because it was a large park they needed suggestions on where to direct people.
Ms. Mello thought it might be wise to wait until 2014, especially in the "A area, because there
were so many detours due to freeway bridge work and some of the detour routes would be taken
out. Last year a woman who attended a Cuthbert event had discussed putting way - finding signs
close to the canoe canal bridge, south of Autzen Stadium. She told them she wanted to be
contacted before they chose where to put signs. She had not heard back from them and hoped she
was still on their contact list as chair of the Signage Committee.
Mr. Richardson said to contact him if anyone had ideas or suggestions for signs.
Ms. Behm spoke regarding the football parking, and said now they have baseball parking. She
said the parking lots were completely full when there was a baseball game because Autzen
Stadium charged for parking. She said the lots should not be full and the CPC needed to address
it.
Ms. Mello said it was going to get worse because they had to move the soccer /lacrosse field into
the Autzen parking lot for the stadium because Pape' field was being taken over.
Ms. Brand wondered if they could find out what the parking plan or official policy was for P K
Park, home stadium for UO and Emeralds baseball.
Mr. Richardson said he could find out what the parking policy was and get that information to the
CPC.
b. Willamalane
Mr. Hyde said that in the Eastgate Woodlands there had been work parties on Saturdays
sponsored by Friends of Trees, continuing their work in removing invasives.
