mechanical removal of invasives in the northwest portion of the Eastgate Woodlands, north of the <br />canoe canal. He said on Monday, January 16, 2012, Friends of Trees would sponsor a work party <br />in Eastgate Woodlands from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. He said anyone interested or wanting <br />more information could contact Friends of Trees at 632 -3683. <br />Ms. Armstead, an audience member, asked if the viaduct was going in near the new part of the <br />bike path that goes under the I -5 Bridge connecting Eugene and Glenwood, south of the <br />Willamette River. <br />Mr. Hyde said he understood it was currently under construction and Ms. Behm said they were <br />removing vegetation. <br />Mr. Hyde said there was a lot of planting and mitigation type work being done in the park, and on <br />the south bank as part of the I -5 Willamette River Bridge project. They were reusing some pieces <br />of the deconstructed I -5 detour bridge for the viaduct. <br />Ms. Armstead suggested that there might be money available from the Urban Renewal District in <br />Glenwood. <br />8. Old Business <br />Ms. Mello said she would like to know the list of organizations planning restoration work within <br />the Park, and if there was a plan of what was going to be done. Between Eugene and Springfield, <br />she wondered how the CPC would know the different focusing on different areas. She wanted to <br />know how CPC could be kept aware of what was being done. <br />Mr. Hyde said he did not know how practical or reasonable it was to keep everyone informed, but <br />he would make an effort. <br />Mr. Richardson said that on the Eugene side POS staff were aware of the CPC and the need to <br />keep them informed, and said he felt they did a good job of keeping him informed. He said he <br />would again remind them that if there was a project in the Whilamut to let him know and he <br />would forward the information to the CPC. <br />9. New Business <br />There was no new business. <br />10. Set Next Meeting Date <br />The next meeting was scheduled for April 5, 2012 in Springfield. <br />11.
