He said the Sheriff s <br />work crew had cut a lot of ivy off the cottonwood trees in the far northeast corner. <br />Mr. Richardson said the bike bridges had two new entrance signs. <br />Mr. Richardson said the Olympic Trials were coming up on June 22, 2012 through July 1, 2012. <br />There had been a request to temporarily relocate the dumpsters across from the old community <br />garden site during the Trials. He did not know the reason for the request, but assumed it was for <br />aesthetic reasons. <br />Ms. Brand, seconded by Mr. McIntire, moved that the CPC take a position against <br />moving the dumpsters. <br />Mr. Sonnichsen said they needed to know the motivation for wanting to move the dumpsters. <br />Mr. Richardson said Lot 9 had been suggested as a preferable spot to temporarily relocate the <br />dumpsters. <br />Following discussion, Ms. Brand withdrew the motion and Mr. McIntire withdrew his second. <br />Ms. Brand said she would support moving the dumpsters behind lot 9, adjacent to the access road <br />to the BMX track and Ms. Behm agreed. <br />Ms. Brand moved, seconded by Mr. Sonnichsen, that, if the dumpsters were relocated, <br />the CPC recommended relocating the three dumpsters beside the access road east of the <br />(W BMX track during the Olympic Trials. The motion passed by a majority vote, with Ms. <br />Morrison abstaining. <br />Mr. Richardson said he would determine the motivation for relocating the dumpsters and let the <br />CPC know. <br />Mr. Richardson continued with his staff report: <br />• The Urban Forestry staff pruned one of the large cedar trees within the BMX parking lot. <br />• The Nowicki bench had been installed. <br />• In West Alton Baker Park, several concrete walks south of the main parking lot were <br />being narrowed. <br />• In March through June 2012 there was going to be an extension of the irrigation line from <br />the science factory to the canoe canal lot so landscaping of the access ramp into lot 8 <br />could be watered. <br />• There is intent to relight the portion of the Pre's Trail that had previously been lit in West <br />Alton Baker Park, before thieves stole the wiring, for the Olympic Trials. <br />• Valley ponderosa pine was going to be planted in the median of the main parking lot. <br />• The disc golf project was waiting on new overflow parking design in the large field west <br />of the boat ramp. The overflow parking would be designed to allow multi -event parking. <br />An RFP was being developed which would go out within a couple months and then the <br />City would hope to get bids from people interested in running the disc golf course in <br />MINUTES -- Citizen Planning Committee for the January 12, 2012 Page 7 <br />Whilamut Natural Area <br />
