Compaction /destroying of dirt, banks, plants
Signage needed
Trash deposited in the park
Water pollution into the canoe canal from people using it for a bathroom
MANAGEMENT
Long term TDM (Transportation Demand Management plan) must include removal
of Parking Lot #8. Compute and include cost of reversion EABP parking lot #8
to its natural state.
Is the present IGA re- negotiable as part of this process? The $300 is well
below market value for the parking spaces and does not mitigate the resulting
loss of park land or the impact on Parking Lot #8 land.
The CPC needs to be involved th the yearly review, which is #10 in proposed TDM.
How is the University going to address concerns for years to come? What is the
process, and what is the back -up if the process is not working?
PARAMETERS
The path between Autzen bridge and the stadium cannot be widened. It can be
resurfaced to make it level.
The plan calls for the parking lot to be reassessed in 2007. If UO is not planning
to relinquish the use of the parking lot as part of the current TDM plan, then
we need a status report on how far they are on their commitment to find
alternative parking during 1996 -2007. We want a status report on what they
are doing to meet that commitment.
The CPC and other user groups want to return the lot to a park in 2007. It
was never intended to be used as a parking lot by Lane County voters.
Native trees need to be planted in the parking lot - trees that grow tall, to
shield the park from unsightly impact of such a tall stadium. The sooner we
plant the trees, the better. For instance, Ponderosa Pines, Douglas Fir,
Incense Cedar.
There are solutions /technology available to manage the stadium lighting to be
low impact for the park that needs to be instituted. UO may even save money
by these methods.
2
