2. The University will participate in an initial inventory of the park along with the
Park host. This will primarily be a photo survey to thoroughly document present
conditions throughout the park. The initial inventory will take place before the
first football game of 2001 and may be conducted at the start of subsequent
football seasons.
B. Game -Day Park Monitoring
1. Game -Day Monitoring, using the Checklist, will be conducted following each
home game or major event at Autzen Stadium. Monitoring will occur as soon as
possible, and within two days of the event. When possible, monitoring will
follow the regularly scheduled trash clean-up.
2. During one of the first football games of the year, monitoring will occur before,
during and after the game. This will provide individuals doing the monitoring
with insights into patterns of park usage.
C. Reporting
1. The Park Host will be required to provide a Monitoring Report to City staff within
3 -4 days of each home game. The monitoring report will include digital copies of
the completed checklist and photos. Photos will be copied to compact disc and
provided to City staff. The checklist will be in a spreadsheet format which can be
e- mailed to City and University staff at the following addresses:
• carolyn i.weissgci.eugene.or.us
• bbealsgoregon.uore og n.edu
Alternate contacts will be provided if the above individuals are not available.
D. Mitigation
1. Based on the results of the monitoring, City staff will prepare a Parks Summary of
the monitoring efforts. If appropriate, the summary will include the following
recommendations for corrective actions:
• Measures to avoid future impacts; and/or
• Measures to mitigate ongoing impacts; and
• Time frame for implementation.
2. Staff recommendations will be forwarded to the University for discussion and
implementation. Results of the park monitoring and staff recommendations will
also be forwarded to the City Manager for review at the Informal Post -Event
Policy Committee Meetings. The policy committee will review this information
and data collected from the various monitoring efforts. In addition, they will
consider whether short-term corrective actions are warranted and whether changes
to the monitoring efforts are appropriate.
Autzen/Alton Baker Park Monitoring Plan 2
8/23/01
