Parameters of C/A Softball Complex.
Buildings, fields, parking lot, fences, all operated and maintained by Coaches'
Athletic.
The single use of this facility is women's fast pitch softball.
ASA age group softball is priority #1 with the ultimate goal of one tournament
per weekend during the summer season; 16 -18 yearolds one weekend, 14 -16
year olds the next, 12 -14 year olds the next weekend and so on.
Scheduling and operating these tournaments will be done by C/A staff.
Assisting with the playing of area high school varsity games during the spring season
is priority #2. C /A's goal of having the finest fields in the area with the best drainage
possible should help the crunch on spring rainouts for area high schools.
Assisting the area recreation associations with overflow games or a tournament site
is another usage for the facility. i.e. Willamalane P &R, Territorial Sports, Kidsports etc.
In conjunction with the proposed 3 field complex for outdoor softball there will be two
buildings on site. The smaller of the two would be the maintenance building, approx.
40x40 feet for equipment storage and maintenance and the dry storage field maint.
products.
The larger building would be the focus of the complex, this would house an indoor
teaching and practice area that this area needs.
The approximate size of this building is 90x180 feet, and will include, rest room and
locker rooms, weight room, concessions, the business office, a softball pro shop for
players and coaches. The clinic space would house a regulation size infield, six batting
cages and six pitching and catching sites.
The focus of the clinic space is rainy season ( 7+ mos. a year) work on the game.
Our goal is to bring prominent fast pitch coaches and players to the area as often
as possible for one or two day clinics and to expose players in the state of Oregon
to the worldwide game of women's softball.
