6.1 Every effort will be made by City and District to provide for on -going and annual
maintenance through a combination of volunteer activity and maintenance fees paid by user
groups.
6.2 The City and District will share in the remaining cost of on going and annual
maintenance based on the pro -rata share of community vs. school district use. Use will be
"weighted" to allow for the amount of use and the impact on fields and play areas by different
sports and uses. Periodic replacement and major repair and maintenance costs will be borne in
the same ratio.
6.3 The standard for quality of maintenance, which will be mutually established by City
and District, will be based on local application of national standards published by the National
Recreation and Parks Association.
6.4 There shall be joint responsibility by City and District for completing maintenance
work.
Section 7. Field Surface Replacement
City and District agree to jointly fund the replacement costs of the artificial surfaces
approximately in proportion to the amount of their use and impact on the surfaces. Failure to pay
for a pro -rata share of the replacement cost could result in a
pro -rata reduction of use.
Section 8. Rental Fees, Concession and Ticket Revenue
8.1 City and District Sponsored Events. Neither City nor District sponsored events
will have a rental charge.
8.2 Other Reserved Use. District's rental rates shall apply to the use of the fields.
There will be a rental rate for the reserved use of athletic fields, including football, soccer,
softball, and baseball fields.
8.3 Rental Revenue. All rental revenue will be used for maintenance[, custodial
services,' and operations] of or custodial services for the facilities described in section 1 of this
Agreement, as mutually agreed by City and District.
8.4 Concession and Ticket Revenue.
(1) Concession and ticket revenue generated by City or District sponsored
events shall be retained by the respective agency.
Draft Intergovernmental Agreement: Joint Use And Development of Youth Sports Parks and Athletic Fields
November 19, 1999
