Please review and give us
your feedback ASAP.
Brian McCarthy and Ron Sanetel will be joining us at Public Works on Friday
from 9 -1.
I called Charlie Warren today and let him know a little about our process:
Primarily that we will be looking to talk with him, Kidsports and other
community representatives probably the week after next. He was OK with
that. He invited me to the Field of Dreams meeting on 6/8.
Charlie says that he, Gary and Rand Pape, and Bonnie Constable (sp ?) are
concerned about the amount of $ going from the youth sports complexes to
the fields. We agreed that the issue would be easier to discuss once we
had some figures.
I will be talking with Andrea and Brian McCarthy to work to get component
estimates.
How are soft costs (architecture fees, permits, project management, etc.)
allocated within the parks bond? What is the exact amount of funds for
youth sports parks and how was the budget determined? To what does
interest earning apply for the $4+ million youth sports park component?
Discussion Draft for Joint Development and Use of
4J /City of Eugene Youth Sports /Athletic Fields
Draft 5/28/99
The City of Eugene and 4J agree to enter into a long term (30+ year)
agreement for the development and joint use of multi -sports fields /youth
sports complexes on three 4J campuses as well as multi - sports fields on two
additional 4J campuses. The field would initially be constructed with
artificial surface and would have sufficient dimensions to support the
playing of high school football and soccer. For the fields, there would
(initially) be aluminum seating for 1,000, night -use low -glare lighting,
low volume sound system, score boards, goal posts, fencing, ticket booth,
and handicap seating and access. The youth sports complex components would
include:
It is proposed that development and operation of the field be governed by a
User Committee. The Committee would be guided by the terms of this
agreement. Membership on the Committee would consist of an equal number of
4J and City representatives to be selected by each organization, as well as
a representative from Kidsports and .
