MEDLIN Johnny R
From: GRISSELL Dee
To: MEDLIN Johnny R
Subject: RE: Owen Rose Garden Maintenance Facility Space Requirements, Etc.
Date: Wednesday, January 17, 1996 2:43PM
Johnny, storing minimum needs of both Fert. and Pesticides on site at Owen Rose Garden is workable. If
we were to maintain a locked storage container in the 18" deep X 44" wide X 45" high range, this would
be adequate for pesticide storage and could be kept seperate from gas or machinery. Larger quantities of
pre- emergent chemicals could be ordered as required and stored on a daily basis until applied. Fertilizer
could be kept at the Alton Baker storage site or elsewhere. ( We like to stockpile when the prices are
lower.) It's just a convenience to have it on site as it's use is required. Storage containers (approx.
$3000each, when fitted with doors & vents) seem to be a workable solution for both small machinery and
fertilizer storage, provided you don't mix the two! Obviously materials such as epsom salts, dolomite lime
and organics are not the issue. The issue of storage pertains to chemical fertilizers which are of flammable
nature, release toxic fumes or, when combined with petroleum products, produce substantial reactions!
From: MEDLIN Johnny R
To: GRISSELL Dee
Cc: MORGAN Dick A
Subject: FW: Owen Rose Garden Maintenance Facility Space Requirements, Etc.
Date: Wednesday, January 17, 1996 11:41 AM
Hi Dee,
Would you please confirm the need and quantities of the
fertilizer and pesticide. Also, please address if there is
a possibility that you can keep only minimum quantities (if
so, specify how much) on site and if the with the rest could
be stored at Roosevelt. Please be as realistic as possible,
since this issue could have a major cost impact.
Thanks
Johnny
From: BLACK Bradley G
To: MEDLIN Johnny R
Subject: Owen Rose Garden Maintenance Facility Space Requirements, Etc.
Date: Wednesday, January 17, 1996 10:51AM
Hi Johnny
I would like to summarize the information that I have been
able to pull together about the Owen Rose Garden Maintenance
facility. Please review the information presented here and
let me know if there are any errors. I would like to get this
project moving. Please review my suggested plan for
implementing this project. I will need your assistance in
setting up a meeting to discuss the project needs, schedule,
budget, etc. My schedule is fairly free next week except for
Tuesday.
Please give me a call after you've had a chance to review this.
LONG TERM SPACE NEEDS (per Dick Morgan's memo of August 14, 1995)
1 - Office 120 sf
1 - Lunch Room 120 sf
1- Unisex restroom with shower 80 sf
1 - Heated work area 180 sf
1 - Heated storage area 180 sf
3 - Unheated garage stalls with lights 792 sf
Page 1
