Announcements and Points of Information <br />Ms. Larison said she received an email from the Stream Team which announced a meeting on invasive <br />species on Saturday, July 26. She was not sure if it was open to the public or just limited to Stream Team <br />members. Ms. Larison offered to get more information about the workshop if members were interested. <br />6. Reports on Subcommittees <br />a. Wildlife/Habitat <br />Mr. Cooper asked members of the subcommittee if anyone wanted to volunteer to take his place as <br />chairperson. He said he is swamped with other work duties, and doesn't feel that he has enough time to <br />chair the subcommittee. <br />Mr. Cooper said the subcommittee had not met of late and had nothing to report. <br />Mr. Sonnichsen said that although he was not on the subcommittee, he wanted to report that two rock <br />cairns were built in the prairie park area with funds from the City of Eugene Olympic Trial Beautification <br />project. The cairns had been planned by Ms. French and were built by Mr. Sonnichsen and Mr. Biggs <br />with help from members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints. Mr. Sonnichsen remarked <br />that it had been a very rewarding project. <br />b. Governmental Relations <br />Mr. Sonnichsen said the subcommittee had discussed the restoration of parking lots 8 & 9. He noted that <br />Mr. Richardson intended to report further on the topic. <br />c. Signage <br />Ms. Mello passed around pictures and said that progress was being made on signage for several kiosks <br />that were being placed around the park. She said there was one other sign going up in Eastgate <br />Woodlands. She passed around a picture that depicted the size of the sign. She related that the project <br />was funded by the Springfield Rotary in conjunction with Willamalane to publicize the Springfield side <br />of the park and would be solar - powered. She anticipated it would take approximately a month to <br />complete. <br />d. Outreach <br />Ms. Behm was not present so Mr. Sonnichsen stepped in and gave an update of the Talking Stones <br />project. He said he and Ms. Behm met with Esther Stutzman of the Kalapuya Tribe, and Lisa Ponder, the <br />engraver, to talk about four additional stones.
