Let me know how it goes. CFA
From: JENNINGS Carrie A
To: ANDERSEN Chris F
Cc: DILLER Della M
Subject: Scobert Park Committee
Date: Wednesday, December 11, 1996 2:51PM
FROM: Bob Hammitt
Jayme Vasconcellos is continuing to pursue removal of Tom
Musselwhite from the Scobert Park Committee, based on the
derogatory e-mail regarding Doug Ebbitt. His latest tact was
to call Greg Rikhoff and request that I remove Tom from the
committee based on the content of this memo. If you
remember, he brought the subject up to the committee and we
were told he apparently has been campaigning committee members
outside of the meetings to support removal of Musselwhite. As
I understand it, he can't generate enough votes to get him
removed because Musselwhite intimidates people. Essentially
the other committee members don't want a confrontation.
The tact Lauren and I have agreed on is that we will not
initiate an action to get Musselwhite removed as the e-mail he
wrote was really outside the scope of the Scobert Park
Committee. We don't believe we can control all the various
things that occur outside the committee, nor should we try to.
Musselwhite has not actually violated the committee rules
during any meetings.
Rikhoff wants me to call Jayme and talk to him about this
issue. That tact I plan to take is that he could bring it up
as a committee issue and attempt to solicit enough votes to
have the committee recommend to the Executive Managers (you
and Dave) that he be removed. I would recommend to Jayme that
he not do this, however, as it will be disruptive to the
committee's mission. I would tell him that if he really
thinks staff should remove Musselwhite he should put his
request, and basis for the request, in writing to you and
Dave. Upon receiving a written letter we would do a formal
review and determine whether or not we want him removed.
Are you ok with that tact or do you want me to deal with Jayme
in a different manner on this issue? It seems to be pretty
hot right now, so give me a response as soon as you can.
Since it is so hard for us to connect, it is fine for you to
call me at home tonight.
Page 1
