Logistics: Department Committees
(continued)
Process regular CIC agenda item. This would be
suggested if you have any doubts about the number of meetings
involved in the completion of the committee task. Another reason
you might want to take a Short Term committee to the CIC would be
if the topics to be covered could be considered highly
controversial or might generate a lot of public interest.
Depending on the type of committee formed (Special Interest or Broad
Social), recruitment is made from the three pools: Special
Interest /Technical, Neighborhood Pool, and Eugene Voter Pool.
Special Interest Technical Committee
2/3 from the Special Interest Technical Pool
1/3 from the Neighborhood and Voter Pools
Broad /Social Issue Committee
1/3 from the Special Interest Pool
1/3 from the Neighborhood Pool
1/3 from the Voter Pool
The information on all pools is maintained in the City Manager's Office. Once
the committee has been approved by the CIC, contact Sheri at X5882 for current
listing of the pools. Please notify Sheri once you have completed you
recruitment so that she can update the records for boards and commissions.
Once the committee completes its work, you will need to schedule time with the
Citizen Involvement Committee to report back regarding the results of the
committee. The CIC, in turn, reports annually to the City Council on
department advisory committees and how they have performed. A sample of a
completed form is attached. This information also needs to be sent to Sheri
in the City Manager's Office.
