ARTICLE VIII. STANDING COMMITTEES <br /> - SECTION A: The following standing committees may be elected, appointed or volunteered <br /> for at any business meeting: Butch Filley Memorial Sponsorship, Governors Cup, <br /> Registration, Awards Banquet, Bylaws, and Elections. <br /> SECTION B: Duties of Standing Committees. All standing committees shall coordinate <br /> their activities and keep the Track Operator advised of all activities. <br /> 1. Butch Filley Memorial Sponsorship. At a business meeting in August, <br /> 1991, the membership voted that 2% of Emerald Valley BMX's annual gross revenue shall <br /> be allocated to fund this sponsorship. <br /> 2. Governors Cup. This committee shall be formed with members of the <br /> participating tracks. These persons shall organize, appoint sub committees, order awards <br /> and other such services as deemed necessary to organize, promote and run the Annual <br /> Governor's Cup races. <br /> 3. Registration. The registration committee shall be responsible for <br /> registering all racers at each race, consulting with the Track Operator for compiling moto <br /> sheets, keeping official scores of races, maintaining a current mailing list and shall become <br /> conversant with the rules of the sanctioning organization. <br /> 4. Awards Banquet. This committee shall be chaired by the Track <br /> Coordinator who will work directly with the President/Track Operator in appointing sub <br /> committees as deemed necessary. <br /> 5. By -Laws. The By -laws committee shall be required to meet bi- annually <br /> and propose any modifications as they deem necessary. This committee shall be formed at <br /> the November business meeting. Proposed changes to the current by -laws shall be submitted <br /> to the committee chairperson no later than the January business meeting. <br /> 6. Elections. This committee shall be responsible for notifying members of <br /> upcoming elections and insuring the elections are conducted according to the by -laws. This <br /> committee shall be formed at the September meeting. This committee shall ensure the <br /> candidates are made aware of the responsibilities of each position. <br /> ARTICLE IX. FINANCIAL AUDIT <br /> SECTION A: The Treasurer shall submit all financial records to a disinterested tax <br /> preparer in January so an audit report can be given by the March meeting. <br /> SECTION B: The audit report shall cover the period of January 1 thru December 31. All <br /> balances and credits shall be affirmed. <br />
