July 25, 1991
Mrs. R.E. Johnson
3065 University Street
Eugene OR 97401
Dear Mrs. Johnson:
Thank you for your concern regarding dogs running at large in Tugman Park.
The original site we identified in Tugman Park was not in the heavily used
developed park - playground area but instead the rough mowed old dump site off
of 39th.
WP have recnnsidered the Tuaman site and plan to propose using the big east
i field at Morse Ranch. This change was a result of public feedback against the
Tuaman site and for the Morse Ranch _gite. It was our oversight in not
initially considering the Morse Ranch site.
We are currently working on an ordinance change which would enable us to
designate areas for dogs to exercise off leash. Following this action, we
will solicit additional public feedback before we finalize our sites and
implement the program.
Thank you again for your interest in this issue. Please feel free to contact
me if you have additional questions or desire additional information.
Respectfully,
Douglas A. Post
Superintendent of Parks Services
