Public input
Overall, public response to the "dog- off - leash" concept has been positive. To
date, Parks Services has received 14 public responses. With the exception of
four, all of the responses were positive. The four negative concerns per -
tained to the use of Tugman Park. The City Manager's office received 11 phone
calls, all favorable with the exception of four which pertained to the use of
Tugman Park.
Response from the Lane County Animal Control Agency is favorable. They have
offered to assist in preparing the rules for signage at the designated park
areas.
Course of Action
If the amended ordinance is approved, PARCS will contact residents (two tax
lots deep) to inform them of the ordinance change, the designated areas, and
other details of the proposal. PARCS will encourage the park neighbors and
the public to provide feedback to the department. PARCS will evaluate the
proposal over a three to six month period.
If you have any questions or concerns about the proposal, please contact me
at 687 -5333 or on OA (BOBSC).
