A contract was issued to the low
bidder for $5,912.70 to restore the existing perimeter fence and to rebuild a
missing section of the fence. Restoration and rebuilding the missing section
was done in order to help contain dogs using the off leash area as well as to
restore the historic value that the fence contributed to the ranch.
Restoration of this fence was a goal regardless of the off leash program.
The other fence work involved was constructing a new fence to completely
enclose the creek and associated wetlands area to protect that area from
environmental damaged associated with the off leash area. Parks crews
consulted with Deborah Evans to determine the area that need protection. The
fencing was completed by City crews at a cost of $4100. This includes labor,
fringes, equipment, materials and supplies.
Its interesting that the people who seem to be complaining most about the City
investing funds in the fence are the same ones that placed the most pressure
on the City to construct the fence.
Hope this answers your questions. If not let me know and I'll try again.
