3. Require CCI to purchase the Thomason Lane properties.
Concerns:
• Would impact their ability to focus funds raised on building construction
D. Recommendation
If the City Council finds sufficient public purpose would be served, staff
recommend transferring ownership of the surplus parkland on Thomason Lane to
Child Care Inc. (CCI) at $ -0- consideration contingent on CCI's ability to:
1. Obtain a Conditional Use Permit to locate a child care facility on RA zoned
property; and
2. Relocate their operation from city owned property at 169 N. Washington,
within Skinner's Park, to the Thomason Lane site within five years; and
3. That no construction would be allowed on the Thomason Lane site until CCI
could show 80% of the funding needed for the relocation project had been
secured.
E. Timing
A Council decision on this issue prior to February 1994 would facilitate CCI's
ability to compete for the next round of Community Development Block Grant
funding.
VI.
